Tether Task Privacy Policy

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you choose, your name. Your password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication and is never visible to us. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us, such as your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we receive only the relay address.

Tasks and thoughts. Tether Task stores what you add: each task or thought's text and optional emoji, the part of the day and date you place it in, its time estimate and order, whether it is done, and when it was created, changed and completed.

Companion links. If you create a companion link, we store a separate record containing only the title and short label of your current one thing and when it last changed. Anyone with the link can see that record. Your name, email address and other tasks are not included.

Tether Task does not ask for health or diagnosis information. Your tasks may still reveal things about you, so write only what you are comfortable storing.

Purchases. If you buy Tether Task Pro, our subscription provider receives your account identifier and purchase details (such as product, purchase date and subscription status) from the App Store or Google Play. We also keep a copy of your plan (tier, billing period, whether it is active, product, expiry date and renewal status) on your account. We never receive your payment card details.

Technical information. Like any online service, our providers process basic technical information such as your IP address, device type and app version to deliver the service and keep it secure.

Tether Task does not include advertising or analytics tools, does not use advertising identifiers, does not show ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Voice capture and AI task breakdowns are planned Pro features that are not available yet. Until they are, the "Break it down" option shows a built-in prompt and nothing is sent to an AI service. Before we turn these features on, we will update this policy to explain what information they use and which providers process it.

We use your information to operate Tether Task: to sign you in, store and sync your tasks across your devices, show your one thing and your weekly rhythm, show your one thing to companions you choose, provide Pro features you've purchased, restore purchases across your devices, respond to support requests, and diagnose and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use your tasks to build marketing profiles.

What we access. If you choose Sign in with Google, Tether Task requests only Google's basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). From your Google Account we receive your name, email address, profile photo and a Google account identifier. Tether Task does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service.

How we use it. We use this information only to create your Tether Task account, sign you in, keep your tasks tied to your account across devices, greet you by name in the app, and contact you about your account or support requests.

How we store and share it. Your Google sign-in is processed by Google Firebase Authentication. We do not sell Google user data, share it with third parties for advertising, use it to build marketing profiles, or use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Retention and deletion. We keep your Google account information for as long as your Tether Task account exists and remove it when you delete your account, as described in our Account Deletion Policy. You can also revoke Tether Task's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings, under third-party connections.

Tether Task's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your account is managed by Google Firebase Authentication, and your tasks are stored in Google Cloud Firestore. Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access rules limit your tasks and plan to your signed-in account. The only exception is a companion link record, which anyone holding that link can read.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We rely on a small number of providers that process data on our behalf, only as needed to deliver their service:

• Google Firebase — account authentication and task storage (Cloud Firestore)
• Apple and Google — optional sign-in, and app store purchases and billing
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Signing out or deleting the app does not delete your account or tasks.

You can delete your account and all of your tasks at any time from Settings → Delete account. Our Account Deletion Policy explains how, what is deleted and what we keep. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; manage or cancel it in your store account settings.

You can view and edit your tasks and your name in the app, turn off or replace your companion link at any time in Settings, and delete your account from Settings → Delete account.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@gaboapps.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Tether Task is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will also let you know by email or in the app.
